Goodbye, lover [May. 27th, 2010|12:43 am]

It's been a good four years and this space has treated me well, but it's time to move.

Spot the dragonfly [May. 12th, 2010|11:44 pm]

Every alternate sunday R and I will try to bring the dogs out for a lil' stroll in the park. It's usually either the Botanics or Pierce. I for one prefer Pierce because it's much less crowded and being there really takes you away from the city. No noise pollution, just the sound of nature and the freshest, cleanest possible air. Big open fields of grass, a reservoir with fishes & turtles, singing sparrows and maybe the occasional monkeys begging for food. (Not safe to feed them though. Heard a friend got caught by a ranger who was hiding in the bushes) This has definitely got to be one of my favourite places, especially when it's post-rain. Apparently, the dogs seem to love it alot too, you can see how vigorously their tails wag when they smell the air on the drive up.

A week before mother's day, the cousins got together to prepare a special surprise "appreciation dinner" for the parents. Everyone played a part in it, even lil' Kyanna, who was put in charge of the balloons, took her job very seriously. Big ups to Aron for being the head chef and not forgetting his other trusty sous chefs. Was quite glad that I had the role of waitress/photographer. Hell hath no fury like a hot busy kitchen! All our hard work was paid off when we saw how happy we made the parents. In return, they kindly offered us a no-budget treat on account that we all meet up together for a lunch or dinner. Me thinks an omakase meal at Tatsuya? Heh

On another note, tickets to the states have finally been confirmed. I can finally fully concentrate on my last two papers and look forward to an awesome summer holiday! Can hardly wait!!

Virtual Bookshelf FTW [May. 7th, 2010|12:02 am]

I am in LOVE with the iBook app for iPad. Don't get me wrong, I still think that a book should be all about it's hardcovers and crisp pages. But wow, this app is so incredibly convenient! I love how you can "sample-read" books before deciding whether to purchase them and it's actually cheaper than buying books from a bookstore. Plus, it makes for a good traveling companion cause' not only do you have a whole shelf of books to choose from, it can contain so many other applications and it's all accessible with one touch! I can't wait till Apple comes out with more other fun apps.
(So bad that it has to come at this time, exams are not over yet and I can't seem to keep my hands of it!)

Happy 21st Gummy [Apr. 26th, 2010|12:45 am]

Apologies for the lack of updates, exams are literally around the corner and I'm suffocating. Too little time for so much to remember. Gonna do the best I can and just hope I'll pull through. 20th of may, please come soon! Then it's freedom for four months!! I smell a NYC summer vacation-in-plan... Really excited, it'll be just like last year but in the US instead of the UK. CAN'T WAIT!

On a totally separate note, these were pictures from over a week ago. It was Van's birthday.. R, Nicky & I surprised her at Graze with sparklers, balloons & a cake.. We all ended the night catching up, playing count-the-shrooms, pigging out on grilled corn cob & sour-cream mash. Good times!
